To the left are some of the Swissies I know in Seattle. Boone is on the right and is Tucker's (proud) father. Eiger, lying down, just became a Champion the weekend of January 23rd, 1999. If you want to learn more about Swissies, here is some excellent reading material (also a link to the AKC breed video). If you're like me, you won't be able to get enough of these dogs. ![]()

Zuger and Zbopp at the Richland Kennel Club ShowOn April 25th, 1998, we made the three hour drive to Richland, Washington, for our very first dog show. We arrived just in time to see Zuger and Zbopp in the ring. Aren't they handsome? We spent the rest of the afternoon strolling around. We especially enjoyed watching the obedience dogs, which Grasel and Atla both are (below). It was also great fun to watch people training their dogs in agility. We also got a first hand glimpse at just how serious showing dogs is. People rolled into town in 200 foot long RVs with sometimes dozen of dogs in tow, which they then spent hours and hours grooming to perfection. The Swissies short coat, however, significantly shortens the time he needs 'to prepare.' These are Grasel and Atla, obedience Swissies. These sweethearts showed off a couple of their moves for us. We then got to meet several more Swissy owners and we attended our very first Northwest Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club meeting. Turns out, Grasel and Atla's parents have a whole obedience and agility setup on their farm. I hope we get a chance to visit sometime. ![]()
