The Latest - 5/2/08:
April 2008:
With heavy heart and overwhelming sadness we say goodbye to our sweet, sweet Stuart.
Words cannot express our deep sorrow. Those who knew and loved Stuart should always
remember his enormous enthusiasm for life, boundless energy, and perpetually upbeat
outlook on life. Stuart loved to give kisses, leap the ottoman, chase his tail, cuddle
in your lap, and to go on hikes and herding. He will be deeply missed and was lost too
young.
If you would like to remember Stuart, please consider making a donation to the AKC CHF
Donor Advised Fund for GSMD at the GSMDCA
Website. I believe you may request that funds be directed to epilepsy research.
January 2008: My husband took a photo of
Tucker looking
very sweet on the couch!
Also, I found
a blast from the past today - a crazy shot of Stuart when he was an
itty bitty puppy!
September 2007:
Tucker won Best of Opposite in Veteran Sweepstakes at the 2007 Cascade Specialty!
I walked into our back room the other night to find
Stuart wedged into Fritz's little
dachshund bed! Here's a
second shot. I thought it was just hilarious. Now, every
night, he turns and turns in order to corkscrew himself into Fritz's bed, it's his
new favorite spot!
August 2007:
Today (8/30/07) I unwaxed my first aged cheese,
a monterey jack. It's slightly sharp and dry and very delicious. After waiting over
2 months with bated
breath, I was very happy to have my first aged cheese come out so well! The pink
marks visible in the photo are dye seepage from the cheese wax and do not affect
the flavor of the cheese. Also, the pear pictured is from my new pear tree!
We've gotten a half dozen pears so far.
Since I haven't posted about Tucker and Stuart in while, here is a photo of them
relaxing in our back room. They both got a little piece of the cheese, which they
thoroughly enjoyed! Tucker will be going to our Specialty next month, entered in
both Specialty Veteran and Sweepstakes Veterans. Stay tuned for information about
how it went!
We have our first egg! Make sure to stay tuned to George & Rita's page for updates!
For those of you missing my Swissies, don't fret, I have some new photos I plan to
put up soon, it's just been a rather uneventful summer for them!
June 2007:
We brought home two young Australorp chickens, George & Rita. Click on their
link above to visit their page!
May 2007:
Spring weather is upon us! The dogs really love laying out in the sun! Here is a photo of the Swissies basking in the May sunshine.
Here's another shot of the dogs enjoying early Sping weather.
A final shot is here.
January 2007:
Tucker is the
champion of lollers now that he's discovered the joys of the couch!
December 2006:

place with a score of 93. Not bad for an old man! Here is a
photo of all four Rally qualifiers!
Stuart competed in best of breed and was a good boy. Here's a
shot of him gaiting.
On September 10th, 2006, Tucker competed in Rally at the Collie Club of Washington trial. He earned his second Rally
leg! He actually tied for first place with a score of 95 - but was seven seconds slower than the winning dog. Here
are some photos:
Tucker earns Second Place!
Starting out with the spiral,
call front finish left,
serpentine weave once, and the
slow at the end of the course. Only one leg to go!
On September 3rd, 2006, Stuart and I participated in the
Pacific Crest Trail pack dog hike near Carson, WA. Stuart
packed 22.2 pounds and successfully completed his very first hike for one leg towards his NWPD. The weather was
lovely and the company was great, but the pack was pretty hard for me! I felt like a truck ran over me for two
days afterward.
August 2006:
On August 12th, Tucker & Stuart attended the Nisqually KC show to warm up for the 2006 CGSMDC Specialty! Tucker competed
in Rally - his first time competing since Rally become a regular titling class. He lost a few points for slow sits
and slow to respond, but qualified for his first Rally Novice leg with a score of 92. Here's a slideshow of Tucker in the ring. Stuart competed in the breed
competition and was a good boy - thanks to Andy Potter for taking photos off us!!!
Tucker and Stuart sure like to snuggle! Here is a shot of them them napping
together and another of Stuart resting his head on his daddy's
leg.
Tucker got his new whiskey barrel in the mail - should be great for Oktoberfest! If anyone is interested in
getting their own, please email me. Also, here's a shot of of my silly
husband sporting it.

less graceful!!

room for two dogs!
Here is a photo of Stuart after taking Winners Dog, January 14th, 2005. He turned 15 months old that day, too! I
promised Michele I'd
credit her for holding my ribbons, but I looked so horrifyingly bad in the photo I had to crop the faces out. Thanks,
Michele!

We had a visit from puppy Peri on November 3rd! Here's another shot. What a sweet
little girl!!
October 2005:
My husband captured Stuart in this unlikely napping position! Soft beds
abound, but he picks that.

under Mr. Clay Coady!

Heimdall finished in 2002), with
daughter Bindi getting closer every day!

Test, and Tucker earned his advanced title,
the DD (open Draft Dog)!
Following, for us, were three days of

time!

"all-Swiss" fun day where
Stuart couldn't see the logic behind actually going through the tunnel!
Tucker decided recently that
being on the couch is actually pretty cool! The photo was dark, so I tried an effect on it.
He's still our special guy!
