Tucker and Fritz in 2002

Older news back to 1998

Tucker earned the first leg of his Junior Herd Dog title at the NWGSMDC Working Weekend in September 2002! Another shot here. The Junior Herd Dog test is a noncompetitive test that illustrates the dog's basic controllability and ability to move stock through a simple course. The stock is moved through the center panel and through each of the corner panels, one after the other. Then the stock is penned (pen not shown). A stop and a pause are also executed. For more information about herding, visit the NWGSMDC Working Swissy page! Also, here is a photo of Tucker training in July.

Tucker took Best in Specialty Show at the GSMDCA NW Specialty on August 24th, 2002. Here is Tucker's daddy, Boone, showing in the Veteran class at 10 years old. Here is Tucker in stud dog. Tucker also won the biggest paw contest at the fun day!

Here's a photo of Bindi with her father training in the cart. Tucker in the sulky, and in his new sulky again!

The BMDCA draft trial (September 2001) proceeded in the face of our national tragedy, with black (for mourning) and yellow (for hope) ribbons passed out to everyone who participated. This was Tucker's very first draft trial. He didn't pass, having failed the loose lead heeling, but he aced all his other manuevers, so there's hope! I put up a page of photos and a simplified "walk through" of a draft test here: Tucker's First Draft Trial

Over the Western Regional weekend in Lacey, August 2001, Tucker took 1st Award of Merit on Sunday's GSMDCA supported entry.
